MCU proudly supported one of New York City’s most colorful and celebrated events – the West Indian-American Day Carnival on Labor Day, September 1, 2008. Millions of onlookers flanked Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn to watch thousands of masqueraders dance their way down the Parkway. Highlights included floats loaded with elaborate costumes, steel bands and hundreds of sidewalk vendors offering mouth watering Caribbean food.
The West Indian-American Day Carnival gave Municipal Credit Union an opportunity to salute the history of the Caribbean islands and
celebrate, with our Caribbean members, their heritage. MCU, just like the Carnival, is about bringing people together. MCU staff shared in the festivities by offering giveaways and financial advice to members who stopped by.
