Boldest Football Ends 2011 Season with Touching Tribute, Victory
The 2011 Boldest Football Team
On Saturday, June 11th, the NYC Corrections “Boldest” Football team defeated the New York City Hustlers at their final game of the season by a final score of 27-6. The game, held at Moor Catholic High School in Staten Island began with a special ceremony to honor the “Fallen Heroes” of the NYC Corrections Department.
"It was great to see MCU once again be a part of a tribute to the New York City Department of Correction Fallen Officers,” stated team captain Chris Harris. “MCU has been a major contributor to the success of Boldest Football this season and we look forward to establishing a lasting relationship. Our newly established annual Fallen Heroes Game is one way that we here at Boldest Football remember our brothers and sisters who have left us. They will never be forgotten."
The Boldest Football team finished the season with a 3-3 record. When asked about MCU’s sponsorship of the team and their participation in the “Fallen Heroes” tribute, MCU Marketing Manager Trisha Guy said, “MCU is proud to support the NYC Department of Corrections, the unsung heroes of the City. We were honored to take part in their “Fallen Heroes” Ceremony that was dedicated to Correction Officers who lost their lives ensuring the safety of every New York City resident. We thank them for being our protectors and for their service”
MCU would like to congratulate the New York City Corrections “Boldest” Football on its successful season, and looks to continue to work with the team and the Corrections Department in its future endeavors.
