MUNICIPAL CREDIT UNION OPENS CONEY ISLAND BRANCH
- First Branch in Seaside Community For Credit Union -

March 28, 2011, Coney Island, New York - Municipal Credit Union (MCU) has opened a branch in Coney Island. MCU President and CEO Kam Wong, Board Chairman Mark Brantley, and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz cut the ribbon on the new full-service branch this afternoon. The branch, located at 1904 Surf Avenue, will be fully operational for all customer transactions beginning April 4th.


The branch will be MCU's first branch in Coney Island, where it currently has a strong presence as the name sponsor of MCU Park, the ballpark home of the Brooklyn Cyclones. The new branch is MCU's fifth branch in the borough of Brooklyn and its 18th systemwide.


"MCU is excited to open its Coney Island branch location, allowing us to provide convenient and excellent service to all of our members who work and live in South Brooklyn. We are also proud to be a part of a truly iconic neighborhood in New York, and the opening of our Coney Island branch displays our continued effort to building a positive, long lasting relationship with the people of the community," said MCU President and CEO Kam Wong.


The full-service branch offers members teller service, ATMs, and staff to help members with a wide range of financial transactions and advice. Branch hours are Monday - Friday from 9am- 4pm and Saturdays from 9am - 1pm. Starting May 1st, the hours will be extended to 6pm on weekdays and until 3pm on Saturdays. The ATMS are accessible 24/7.
