
Karen Lucas has been serving MCU as a member of the Supervisory Committee since 2001. Ms. Lucas, a member of MCU since 1987, currently serves as the secretary of the Supervisory Committee. Ms. Lucas has served the City of New York since 1987 when she began her career with the Taxi and Limousine Commission, where she still works today. Ms. Lucas has held multiple positions with the TLC, including Director of Driver Licensing, Facility Administration Coordinator, Assistant Director of Safety and Emissions, Executive Director of Licensing, Executive Director of Consumer Relations, Executive Director of Training, and Director of Education Services. Prior to her city employment, Ms. Lucas spent over a decade working in retail banking. Ms. Lucas is a member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, the Credit Union Executive Society, the Columbia Association of the NYC TLC, and a former board member of the National Council of Columbia Associations in Civil Service. A graduate of Queens College, Ms. Lucas was born in Brooklyn and spent her early childhood years in Connecticut before moving to Queens, where she currently resides.
