MCU’s HOLIDAY CHARITABLE INITIATIVES
A RESOUNDING SUCCESS
Some of the 1,600 pounds of food MCU
donated to City Harvest this past holiday season
It was a nicer holiday season for many New Yorkers in need, thanks in part to the generosity of Municipal Credit Union (MCU) and its members. MCU members and staff collected and donated more than 1,600 pounds of food, 200 toys, and 175 coats during holiday season collection drives, nearly doubling the amount collected in 2010.
The 1,600 pounds of food were donated to the City Harvest Food Drive; the toys were donated to the Salvation Army's Toys For Tots campaign, and the coats were donated to the New York Cares Coat Drive.
"Once again, our members and staff have demonstrated their great commitment to the community and to helping others less fortunate. Thanks to their very generous support, City Harvest, the Salvation Army, New York Cares, and the deserving people they serve were able to have a happier, warmer, and more plentiful holiday season. We are so proud that we were able to help these great organizations and the work they do," said MCU President/CEO Kam Wong.
