On August 26th, over 18,000 athletes — representing law enforcement and fire agencies from 70 countries — will gather for the first time in New York City for the 2011 World Police and Fire Games. The games will respectfully coincide with the remembrance of September 11, 2001. First held in 1985, the WPFG Games are currently the second largest multi-sport athletic event in the world, and will feature athletes competing in 65 sporting events throughout NYC (August 26th–September 5th).
