Mark S. Brantley

Chairman of the Board of Directors

Mark S. Brantley, Esq. is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Municipal Credit Union. Born in New York City, he and his family are long time residents of Harlem, the city's iconic African-American residential, cultural and business center.

A member of MCU since the late 1980's, Mark was elected to MCU's Board of Directors in 2005 where he served as Treasurer, Chairman of the budget sub-committee, and 1st Vice Chair. He also sits on the board of the African-American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) Eastern Region Chapter, where he serves as Treasurer. On occasion, Mr. Brantley has been invited to appear as a conference panelist on credit union issues, more recently at the National Urban League's 2010 Centennial Conference in Washington, D.C.

Currently, the Administrator of the Office of the County Clerk in New York County, his career in the Unified Court System of New York spans a period of more than 25 years. Mr. Brantley also served as an administrative law judge for the City of New York's Department of Finance, Adjudication Division. He is a member of the New York Bar and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts, and the United States Supreme Court. Mark holds a juris doctorate from New York Law School and a bachelor's degree from the City College of New York.

Finally, Mr. Brantley is an ordained minister and serves as an Associate Elder at a historic Harlem Church. Mark is a member of the NAACP, Metropolitan Black Bar Association, Jewish Lawyers Guild, New York County Lawyer's Association, Association of the Bar of the City of New York, 100 Black Men of New York, Inc. (Founding Chapter), and the National Association of Credit Union Chairmen. Mr. Brantley is happily married to his wonderful wife and has a five year old daughter.
