Well, we can't take credit for the sunshine, but it was our pleasure to treat members of the Bronx School for Law, Government & Justice debate team to a summer outing at MCU Park in Coney Island, Brooklyn.

The team is the largest urban debate team in New York City. Located in an impoverished area near Yankee Stadium in the South Bronx, the school has attracted praise and attention for its academic excellence. As a result of dedicated teachers and coaches the debate team has won top honors at every tournament across the East Coast, including New York, Newark, Boston, Washington D.C., and Baltimore.

MCU has been a sponsor of this top notch debate team for two years, and our support has allowed them to travel to and compete in national debate championships at the end of each year, transforming them from a local debate team to a national debate team with a national reputation. Understanding that having fun and decompressing is as important to kids as hard work and dedication, MCU invited the group to MCU Park for a game between the Brooklyn Cyclones and the Connecticut Tigers. For many of the kids, it was their first trip to Coney Island, and for some, their very first baseball game. All of the students had a great time.
