MCU Hikes the Hill at the 2016 NY Credit Union GAC

Members of the MCU Board of Directors and staff joined more than 130 Credit Union leaders throughout New York State to “Hike the Hill” in Albany for the 2016 New York Credit Union Association Governmental Affairs Conference (NYCUA GAC), held on Tuesday, April 11 and Wednesday, April 13. NYCUA GAC brings credit union advocates together with members of the New York State Senate and Assembly in order to work towards legislation that would positively impact New York credit unions and the 5.3 million members they serve.

This year Municipal Credit Union, along with other participating credit unions, met with legislators representing districts across the five boroughs in order to discuss important issues including municipal deposits and data security policy reform.

“We are proud to represent Municipal Credit Union at NYCUA GAC, and work with our elected officials to pass legislation that will help our members,” said MCU AVP of Public Relations Mike Mattone, who is also a Trustee of NYCUA’s CULAC/CUPAC Committee. “The continued support we receive from our legislators in Albany is proof that the Credit Union Movement continues to grow and thrive in our state, and we look forward to working with them in the future to enact policy that positively impacts our members.”
