MCU Honors Brian Daniels as Most Valuable New Yorker

In continuing our support and appreciation for the people who exemplify the spirit of our city, Municipal Credit Union proudly recognized New York Presbyterian Queens Patient Navigator Brian Daniels with the Most Valuable New Yorker (MVNY) Award at Carnesecca Arena on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.

Daniels, who works with the Cancer Services Program (CSP), was named New York Presbyterian’s Caregiver of the Month in October 2017 for his efforts that go above and beyond in helping patients. As a dedicated member of the CSP team, Brian is committed to helping patients who are receiving cancer treatment at NYP Queens and to raising cancer awareness in the community. In September 2017, Brian hosted a fundraiser for New York Presbyterian Queens Making Strides Against Breast Cancer team at his home. The event was attended by 175 guests and raised more than $3,000.

“Brian Daniels is a true everyday hero who exemplifies the impact each of us can have on our communities,” said MCU Vice President of Business Development/Member Relations Corey Fernandes. “His dedication to helping those with cancer and raising cancer awareness is truly admirable. It’s a pleasure to honor him as a Most Valuable New Yorker.”

This is the second year of the MCU Most Valuable New Yorker program, which was created to recognize the hardworking men and women of New York City who selflessly go above and beyond to make New York a better place to work and live. Individuals who display dedication to service and their community through their efforts are selected to be honored by MCU so that other New Yorkers can be inspired by their story. MCU honors Most Valuable New Yorkers at various events throughout the city, including St. John’s University Basketball games, CUNY Athletics events, and Brooklyn Cyclones games held at MCU Park.
