Municipal Credit Union joined the New York Jets and leading national anti-bullying organization STOMP Out Bullying to recognize the 16 2017-2018 Jets Tackle Bullying Upstander of the Week recipients at Carteret Middle School in Carteret, New Jersey on Friday, April 27, 2018. The Jets Tackle Bullying program aims to create awareness about a national epidemic that impacts every community by reaching educators and students in the tristate area through school visits, annual educator symposiums, and weekly programs that celebrate students who are working to resolve bullying in their schools
The event, which included a visit from New York Jets Center Jonotthan Harrison, congratulated all students on the efforts they took to create a more inclusive peer environment and shared important information about how bullying can affect young people.
“We’re very proud to join the New York Jets and STOMP Out Bully to congratulate and celebrate the students at Carteret Middle School,” said MCU Vice President of Public Relations Michael Mattone who attended the event. “School visits like these continue to encourage students to make a positive difference within their classrooms and communities. We look forward to continuing our partnership with these outstanding organizations as we work to further our mission of empowering youth throughout the New York area.”
Since 2017, MCU has worked with STOMP Out Bullying to promote a healthy and inclusive culture among young people. In addition to sponsoring the Jets Tackle Bullying program, Municipal Credit Union joined the New York Jets and STOMP Out Bullying to participate in National Culture Week this April and hosted the Jets Tackle Bullying Symposium for educators last august. The credit union again worked with the Jets to support national anti-bullying initiatives by presenting a $100,000 donation to STOMP Out Bullying during the third annual Anti-Bullying Day at MetLife Stadium last October.
