In support of the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) Municipal Credit Union proudly sponsored the 2017 NYC Sanitation Calendar, which celebrates New York’s Strongest and brings attention to the work done every day to keep the city healthy, safe and clean. MCU Board Chair James Durrah and members of the Business Development Team attended the calendar launch event held at Foley Square in downtown Manhattan on Thursday, November 17, 2016 to congratulate those featured and express Municipal Credit Union’s continued enthusiasm in supporting city organizations.
“We are elated to be able to assist the Department of the Strongest, the commissioner and all of your staff with this project,” said Mr. Durrah. “We are looking forward to other kinds of activities that we can continue doing with other departments across the city. MCU’s success is because of our members like those in the Department of Sanitation and other city agencies. We value that and will continue to serve them and their communities.”
All proceeds from the 2017 NYC Sanitation Calendar sales will benefit the Foundation for New York’s Strongest, the official nonprofit organization of the New York City Department of Sanitation. According to the Department of Sanitation, the Foundation leverages non-traditional strategies to promote sustainability and advance the essential services Sanitation employees provide by emphasizing New York’s Strongest as one of the City’s emergency responders and highlighting their critical, daily service; Forging partnerships with private-sector organizations to move New York City toward sending zero waste to landfills by 2030; and Working to establish an educational museum dedicated to DSNY’s rich history, current operations and vibrant future.
