Dear MCU Members,
Happy New Year!
As we say goodbye to 2018 and welcome 2019, I would like to thank you (including our more than 40,000 new members who joined MCU last year) for allowing us to serve you.
You are amazing. In my short time at MCU, I have seen firsthand your kindness, integrity and compassion. Your actions know no bounds, be it rushing into dangerous situations, showing a child the possibilities inside themselves or helping a person in a time of need. Your countless contributions are awe-inspiring and make a permanent positive difference in the lives of the individuals you encounter.
MCU is proud to partner with you in activities that enrich New Yorkers’ lives, such as anti-bullying programs, the Thanksgiving turkey giveaway, the coat drive benefiting homeless NYC students, and the “Its My Park” program for cleaning and renovating local playgrounds. We also partner with the New York Jets, collaborating with them to honor our first responders. In 2018, we supported cancer awareness with "Shoot for a Cure" and continued our dedication to education by providing students with scholarships. Additionally, MCU continues to offer the "Financially Fit Series" which is our premier financial literacy program.
None of this would be possible without the participation and leadership of MCU’s tremendous employees. This group has talent, heart and richness beyond description. They are individuals just like you and me – wanting to make a positive difference for those we love, wanting to make a positive difference for you, our members, and wanting to make a positive difference in our communities and country.
I continue to remain humbled, proud and excited to serve as your President & CEO. I am also bursting with enthusiasm about the direction we are headed. We have already made some recent enhancements, such as hiring three senior level officers, lowering our minimum deposit balance fee and improving our ATM reliability. We will let you know as we roll out additional enhancements. Please continue to send me your questions or comments at Mark.Ricca@nymcu.org.
I wish you, your family and friends a happy, healthy and prosperous 2019!
Mark A. Ricca
