Loan Officer
Primary Job Function
Review credit applications and determine credit worthiness. Grant or deny extensions of credit.
Set credit limits.
Responsibilities
Review installment loan, credit card, and overdraft applications. Ensure that delinquency and charge-off
rates remain within limits established by Senior Management. Analyze applications to determine debt to
income ratio payment history and ability to repay. Examine automated credit bureau reports and other
supporting materials. Input information to automated processing systems as needed to complete credit
application process. Contact applicants to secure additional information necessary to reach a lending
decision. Request personal interviews as needed. Respond to loan related inquiries. Approve or deny loan
or credit card applications within limits established by the Board of Directors. Make recommendations
regarding the credit review process. Prepare denial notices as needed. Prepare daily production sheet
for all loans reviewed. Provide department management with daily work product upon request. Coordinate
management established quality control procedures for loans. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
College degree preferred. Collection experience, desirable. Experience in credit verification and lending
determination procedures. Familiarity with various credit reports and rating mechanisms.
Good communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent credit analysis ability.
Proficiency in Microsoft for Windows Applications.
