Members are reporting receiving a fraudulent email message that appears to be coming from MCU. The message informs
the member that their request to reset their nymcu.org password has been received. It contains two links and
instructs the person who received the message to either click on a link to "confirm request and reset password"
or click on the other link to "cancel password reset". The message is signed by "nymcu.org Team". This email
message is an Identity Theft scam. The sender is attempting to obtain personally identifiable information and
credit union account access information.
MCU will never send you an email message and ask you confirm or cancel a password reset request. Never click on links
in e-mail messages that ask you to provide or verify your personal account information.
Do not respond to unsolicited text messages, email messages or telephone calls that ask for any account
information or other private information. MCU will never contact you by email, text message or phone call
to ask you to update or verify your account information. If you think your MCU accounts have been compromised,
report it to our Fraud Department by filling out and submitting a
Fraud Investigation Form.
