New Chelsea branch expands MCU’s Manhattan presence and gives more New Yorkers access to full-service, in-person banking
NEW YORK (August 31, 2026) — Municipal Credit Union (MCU), the New York Metro’s largest credit union, today celebrated the opening of its newest branch at 275 7th Avenue in Chelsea, expanding MCU’s footprint in Manhattan and giving more New Yorkers convenient access to its full range of in-person financial services.
Located on 7th Avenue, the new Chelsea branch gives people who live and work in Chelsea greater access to MCU’s suite of personal banking services. The location complements MCU’s digital banking offerings by giving members another option for the moments when they need personalized, face-to-face financial guidance.
“This branch is about creating a stronger connection with the Chelsea community,” said Kyle Markland, Chief Executive Officer of MCU. “Digital banking makes it easier than ever to manage everyday finances, but there is still real value in sitting down with someone who understands your goals. We’re proud to give more New Yorkers a local team they can turn to, whether they’re building credit, buying a home or planning for the future.”
At the Chelsea branch, members can access everyday banking and account services, financial counseling and personalized guidance for major financial decisions, and on-site staff who can help members identify actionable solutions tailored to their unique needs.
“Chelsea is a neighborhood where tens of thousands of people live, work and move through every day, and we want MCU to be just as accessible,” said Toni-Ann Sforza, MCU’s Chief Operating Officer. “This branch gives our members another convenient place to take care of their everyday banking needs, ask questions and get personalized support when they need it.”
The new location expands MCU’s presence in Manhattan and marks its 17th branch across New York City, reinforcing the credit union’s commitment to providing accessible, relationship-driven financial services across the five boroughs.
