A’isha Torrence
Member
In her current role, Ms. Torrence is responsible for consolidated financial statements, external audits, IRS filings, retirement plan audits, grant and contract compliance, and adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. She regularly presents financial results and control matters to Boards of Directors and Audit and Finance Committees, and partners with executive leadership on internal controls, financial policies, liquidity management, and long range financial strategy.
Ms. Torrence previously spent 20+ years at AHRC New York City, a $390 million nonprofit human services organization, where she held progressively senior roles in financial planning, analysis, and budgeting. She led enterprise wide forecasting and liquidity planning during periods of operational disruption, including the COVID 19 pandemic. Ms. Torrence brings deep technical expertise in audit processes, financial reporting standards, compliance frameworks, and governance best practices.
Ms. Torrence holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Queens College and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New York State. Her broader governance experience includes service as a Trustee of the AICPA Foundation, a Council Member of the American Institute of CPAs, and senior leadership roles within the New York State Society of CPAs. Her professional contributions have been recognized with the NYCPA Outstanding CPA in Industry Award and Crain’s New York Business Notable in Accounting, Tax, and Audit. Ms. Torrence also supports the community by serving on the boards of Lutheran Social Service of NY and First Tee of Raritan Valley.
