Michael Savino
Chief Lending Officer
Michael Savino serves as Chief Lending Officer at Municipal Credit Union (MCU), where he oversees Residential and Consumer Lending, Collections, Loan Servicing, and Lending Quality Control.
Michael joined MCU in 2023 and has played a key role in accelerating loan portfolio growth while modernizing lending operations. His leadership continues to strengthen MCU’s position as a trusted financial partner for New Yorkers, with a focus on responsible growth, operational excellence, and enhanced member experience.
With more than 20 years of experience in retail banking and consumer lending across banks and credit unions, Michael began his career at Citizens Bank before joining Teachers Federal Credit Union in 2007. During his tenure there, he advanced to Vice President of Consumer Lending & Credit.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Siena College and an MBA in Management and Leadership from Dowling College.
In recognition of his impact on the industry, Michael was named to City & State New York’s 2026 Who’s Who in Affordable Housing for his leadership in expanding access to affordable homeownership. He was also recognized by MeridianLink in 2025 for operational excellence and lending transformation.
Michael serves on the Board of the MCU Foundation and participates on the Client Advisory Boards for MeridianLink, Zest AI, and Movemint, contributing strategic insights to advance lending technology and improve member outcomes across the industry.
