Michael Savino
Chief Lending Officer
Michael Savino serves as MCU’s Chief Lending Officer, where he oversees Residential Lending, Consumer Lending and Loan Servicing Operations.
Michael has over 19 years of retail banking and lending experience with banks and credit unions. He began his career as a teller at Citizens Bank, where he was first introduced to retail banking. Developing a passion for supporting the financial needs of his customer base, he participated in the Citizens Management Development Program, rising to the position of assistant branch manager. Michael took that passion for supporting people to the credit union industry as he joined the management team at Teachers Federal Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in the country, in 2007. He advanced through a series of promotions to the position of Vice President, Consumer Lending & Credit, before leaving to join MCU as Chief Lending Officer in 2023. At Teachers, Michael cultivated innovative strategies to drive loan growth, member engagement, streamline organizational communication, and support members facing financial difficulty, as well as supporting and developing his team members.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Siena College and an MBA in Management and Leadership from Dowling College. He was born and raised on Long Island, where he resides today with his wife and two children, and coaches youth football.
Michael is also proud to be a Director of the MCU Foundation Board of Directors.
