MCU Foundation Awards Grant to Support The Bowery Mission

$100,000 will help provide meals and shelter, support recovery services, and expand opportunities for children

NEW YORK (September 23, 2026) — The MCU Foundation is providing a $100,000 grant to The Bowery Mission to help meet the basic needs of New Yorkers and support their progress toward greater stability. The grant continues the Foundation’s partnership with The Bowery Mission, supporting meals, shelter, long-term recovery programs, counseling and other vital services, as well as enrichment opportunities and summer camp for children.

The Bowery Mission’s services address immediate needs while helping people work toward lasting change. Its residential programs combine housing, counseling, classes and other support to help participants pursue their goals. Programs for children offer opportunities to learn, grow and build confidence.

“Having a nutritious meal, a safe place to sleep and someone to turn to for support can make a meaningful difference in a person’s life,” said Kyle Markland, chief executive officer of Municipal Credit Union. “The MCU Foundation’s grant to The Bowery Mission helps meet those immediate needs and supports the care New Yorkers need as they work toward a more stable future.”
