If you are having trouble making your MCU mortgage loan payments, we may be able
to find a solution to help you prevent foreclosure.
Options
When you are having trouble making your mortgage payments, the sooner you get in
touch with us the better. If you qualify for hardship assistance, there are several
options available:
-
Repayment Plan — A fixed amount of time is given for you to repay the
amount you are behind by adding a portion of what is past due to your regular payment.
- Forbearance — Mortgage payments are reduced or suspended for a short period of time.
You resume making your regular payments as well as a lump sum payment or additional
partial payments for a number of months to bring the loan current.
-
Loan Modification — One or more of the terms of your mortgage contract
are permanently changed to make your payments more manageable for you.
-
Short Sale — The lender agrees to the sale of your property even though
the balance does not cover the debt owed.
-
Deed-in-Lieu-of Foreclosure — With your servicer’s agreement, you voluntarily
transfer property title to the servicer, in exchange for cancellation of the remainder
of your debt.
