Homeowner Hardship Assistance
Life Happens. MCU Can Help.
Having trouble making your MCU mortgage loan payments? Let us know as soon as possible—we may be able to find a solution to help you prevent foreclosure and keep your home.
Don’t Wait—Contact the MCU Team Now.
If you’re having trouble making your mortgage payments, time is of the essence—the sooner you get in touch with us, the better.
If you qualify for hardship assistance, there are several options available:
Repayment Plan
A fixed amount of time is given for you to repay the amount you are behind by adding a portion of what is past due to your regular payment.
Forbearance
Mortgage payments are reduced or suspended for a short period of time. You resume making your regular payments as well as a lump sum payment or additional partial payments for a number of months to bring the loan current.
Loan Modification
One or more of the terms of your mortgage contract are permanently changed to make your payments more manageable for you.
Short Sale
The lender agrees to the sale of your property even though the balance does not cover the debt owed.
Deed-in-Lieu-of Foreclosure
With your servicer’s agreement, you voluntarily transfer property title to the servicer, in exchange for the cancellation of the remainder of your debt.
Request Hardship Assistance
To find out whether you qualify for Homeowner Hardship Assistance, follow the steps below. If you do not qualify, we will work with you to explore other options available to help you keep your home or ease your transition to a new home.

You will be required to fill out and return a Borrower Response Packet to determine eligibility.

Find Out Whether You Qualify
We will evaluate your situation and determine whether you qualify for assistance. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you will be offered a Trial Period Plan.
Beware of Foreclosure Rescue Scams.
Scam artists are stealing millions of dollars from distressed homeowners by promising immediate relief from foreclosure, or demanding cash for counseling services when HUD-approved counseling agencies provide the same services for FREE. Visit HUD.gov to report a scam or to learn more.
