We've developed this page as a resource to provide you with service-related changes and other updates regarding MCU's response to the COVID-19 situation.


ATTENTION: In order to be in compliance with the most recent New York State executive order regarding the need to cover your face when out in public, we are now requiring members to cover their face when visiting a branch. You will not be allowed to enter a branch without a mask or other kind of face covering. Thank you for your cooperation.

At Municipal Credit Union (MCU), the physical health and financial safety of our members and employees are of the utmost importance to us. Following the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to help prevent the spread of the virus, we've implemented protocols like additional scheduled cleanings of our branches, disposable sanitary gloves for our branch staff and having hand sanitizer available. As a next step, Municipal Credit Union has made the difficult but necessary decision to temporarily restrict branch lobby access by instituting an appointment only system for branch visits.

Effective Monday, April 27th, we will be temporarily consolidating our branch network to six branches. The following branches will be open and available to serve members by appointment only:

Brooklyn: 350 Jay Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201
Bronx: 755 Co-op City Blvd., Bronx, NY 10475
Bronx: 560 Courtlandt Avenue, Bronx, NY 10451
Long Island/Queens: 1660 Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont, NY 11003
Queens: 134-66 Springfield Blvd., Springfield Gardens, NY 11413 (Reopening 4/27/20)
Staten Island: 2546 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306

In-Branch Member Services
Due to the COVID-19 situation, a limited number of Member Service Representatives will be available to assist members In-Branch with urgent matters. We encourage you to use our online services for account openings and loan applications, and our ATMs for cash withdrawals up to $1,500.

If you cannot address your banking needs online, please fill out the branch appointment form and a branch representative will get back to you as soon as possible with next steps.

Digital Banking and ATMs

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is evolving to include states of emergency being declared and restrictions placed on the number of people allowed to gather in public places, we strongly recommend that you use MCU’s digital tools and ATMs for self-service banking and 24/7 account access.

Online and Mobile Banking
Through NYMCU’s Online Banking and the Mobile App you can make payments, view balances and transactions, find an ATM, deposit checks using Mobile Deposit and more.

It’s easier and quicker to manage your accounts using our digital tools, especially since call wait times may be longer than usual.

It only takes a few minutes to:

  1. 1) Enroll in Online Banking

  2. 2) Download the MCU Mobile App (after enrolling in Online Banking):

You can use an MCU ATM to:

  • • Withdraw cash (up to $1,500 daily)

  • • Make an auto or personal loan payment

  • • Pay your Mortgage

  • • Pay your Visa Credit Card

  • • Transfer money between your MCU accounts

  • • Check your account balance

You can also use one of the 30,000 CO-OP Network ATMs nationwide to make a cash withdrawal.

Protect Yourself From Fraud

During this time, we also want to remind you to stay alert for any scams that might be out there, including fraudulent calls, emails and text messages. MCU will never contact you by phone, email or text to ask you to update your account information or to provide your account number, Personal Identification Number (PIN), Debit or Credit Card Number, password or Social Security Number. If you think there is potential fraud on your account, please call the eBranch at (212) 693-4900.
